Most Acro Dance class placement is determined by age as of September 1st 2023 as outlined below. To advance to Acro II the student can conduct a skill evaluation to be considered for placement.

Acro is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Often defined by unique choreography, acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context.

Children’s Acro

Parent & Tot Acro:  Music, movement, balance and basic tumbling are introduced in a fun, friendly and positive manner. This type of class includes mom or dad or another loved one participating in the class along with the little tumbler. Our teachers will keep the music and curriculum moving along while parents take an active role in encouraging, supporting, and keeping the little tumbler on track. Parent/Tot Acro is for children 18 months up to the age of 4 years. 

Tiny Tots Acro:  Students will learn and master skills demonstrating basic Flexibility, Strength, Balance, Limbering Skills, and Tumbling Skills such as cartwheels and bridges. Must be 3 years old by September 1, 2023.

Primary Acro:  Students will work on Pre-Splits (flexibility), Planks and Bridge Hold (strength), Baby Scorpion (balance), Pike, Tuck, Straddle (Limbering), and Cartwheel & Handstand (Tumbling Skills) and many more skills not listed. Must be 5 years old by September 1, 2023.

Graded Level Acro

AcroDance I:  At this level students will work on the development of Splits Right, Left and Center (Flexibility), Plank holds and Wall Sits (Strength), Half Scorpion and Front Chest Stand (Balancing), Handstand to Bridge/Bridge and Kick over (Limbering), Cartwheel Right and Left, Cartwheel from one knee, One hand cartwheel (Tumbling Skills) (plus more skills not listed above).

AcroDance II:  At this level students will work on Full Splits Right, Left and Center (Flexibility), Superman, Push ups and Handstand Shoulder Shrugs (Strength), Front Chest Stand, Forearm Stand, Half Scorpion (Balancing), Front Limber, Arabian Handstand to Forward Roll, Back walkover to chest roll (Limbering), Front walkover (right and left), Back walkover (right and left), Front walkover from one knee, side aerial, plus more skill not listed above. Must be 7 years old by September 1, 2023.

SemiPrivate Acro:  Students will have a 3 to 1 ratio with the instructor and will be able to focus on specific skills they are looking to achieve. This is not a reoccurring enrollment class and parents should enroll FOR EACH DATE you’d like to attend. Students must be able to independently execute
-A Right Two Handed Cartwheel
-A Left Two Handed Cartwheel
-A Handstand into a Bridge/Backbend
-A Backbend from a Standing Position
