Chara Christian Dance Academy is home to four competitive dance companies, ages 6 through 18. Dancers are placed by skill level, pending a spring audition, and attend multiple dance competitions and conventions throughout the greater Houston area. Our Competitive Company’s mission is to express the joy of dance while glorifying God to the community and audiences. Participation in Competitive Company gives young dancers the opportunity to gain a deeper knowledge of the dance arts, build character, and to work as a team towards one common purpose.
Kinder – 8th Grade
Chara Performance Company
Chara Christian Dance Academy is home to two Performance Companies for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade. Students enrolled in one or more dance class at Chara have the opportunity to participate. Performance Companies practice weekly and have an average of one performance monthly at various locations around the Greater Houston area. Our Performance Company’s mission is to express the joy of dance while glorifying God to the community and audiences.

Our Competitive Company’s mission is to express the joy of dance while glorifying God to the community and audiences. Participation in Competitive Company gives young dancers the opportunity to gain a deeper knowledge of the dance arts, build character, and to work as a team towards one common purpose. Placement in Competitive Company is by audition only and is open to dancers 6 years of age and older.

Chara Boys Crew
Introducing Boy’s Crew!
Chara’s newest dance company is an opportunity for our male hip hop dancers to further develop their talents and technique while gaining more stage performance experience. The company is tailored toward boys ages 8 and older by September 1st pending an audition to determine skill level. Boys Crew meets weekly for rehearsals and performs monthly at various locations around the Greater Houston area.

Friendswood Contemporary Ballet
Friendswood Contemporary Ballet is the semi-professional ballet company that is open to all pre-professional and professional dancers in the community. The Company currently resides and meets at Chara Christian Dance Academy and performs seasonal dance works through the Company’s own performances as well as numerous performances throughout the community.
